The importance of staying warm in the winter: Part 1
Hello. Today, we’ll be discussing the importance of staying warm in the winter. Even if you don’t mind cold weather, exposing yourself to harsh conditions for too long can cause some serious health issues.
If you aren’t properly heating your home, or if you’re spending long periods of time outside, you’re increasing your risk for hypothermia. This issue occurs when your body temperature drops below 95 degrees, and can be extremely dangerous.
Many people don’t know that this can happen gradually over time, especially if your home’s temperature is kept at less than 65 degrees. If you notice slurred speech, weak heartbeat or shallow breathing, it could be a sign of hypothermia. To prevent this from happening, try using space heaters to maintain a healthy temperature.
